Required documentation 2017: First step

1. National ID document, passport or ID card

Spanish candidates and foreign candidates resident in Spain only have to provide their national identity number (NIF) or foreigners' identity number (NIE). If the candidate authorises the Serra Húnter Programme to check his/her identity details via the Government of Catalonia's Administrative Integration and Cooperation Platform (PICA) in the application to participate in the call for contracts, it is not necessary to provide a scanned copy of the ID document.

Candidates who are nationals of European Union countries and countries in the Schengen area must provide a scanned copy of their national ID document or passport.

Candidates from other countries must provide a scanned copy of their passport.

2. Doctorate qualification

Spanish candidates and foreign candidates resident in Spain who hold a doctorate awarded by a Spanish university after 1993 do not have to provide a copy of the certificate if they authorise the Serra Húnter Programme to check these details via the Government of Catalonia's Administrative Integration and Cooperation Platform (PICA) in their application to participate in the call for contracts.

Other candidates must provide a scanned copy of the doctorate qualification certificate.

Information on the official recognition of doctorate qualifications

If the doctorate qualification being submitted was issued by a university in a state that does not belong to the European Higher Education Area, it must be officially recognised. If official recognition has been granted, accreditation must be attached in the form of a scanned copy. If not, official recognition may be applied for, once the candidate has been accepted.

3. Accreditation

In order to be able to participate in the call for a fellowship contract at a Catalan public university, current legislation requires accreditation from the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya). Depending on the type of contract, the accreditation required is:

By submitting an application to participate in the call for contracts, the candidate authorises the Serra Húnter Programme to request information on accreditation from the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya).

If accreditation is not held, it may be applied for from the Agency in the following ways:

  • By directly requesting it from the AQU Catalunya website within the established deadline.
  • By authorising the SHP to send your personal details to AQU Catalunya. The application contains an option authorising the SHP to carry out this process. In this case, the Serra Húnter Programme will process your application.

If your research accreditation has been issued by a quality assurance agency other than the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya), a scanned copy of said accreditation must be attached to the application.

4. Curriculum vitae

Full CV, which might be in free format but, if you don’t hold the required accreditation from AQU Catalunya, we recommend following the AQU Catalunya model to ensure a correct assessment.

This is important since the results of the AQU Catalunya assessment will determine whether or not your application passes the first stage of the selection process (for more information, please see Selection process). If AQU Catalunya accreditation is not held and you opt to submit your CV in free format, it will be necessary to provide quality indicators related to your publications.

Moreover, since for the AQU’s favorable report as tenure-eligible lecturers the teaching experience is valued, we recommend to attach any certificates of teaching the candidate may have.
