The Serra Húnter Programme (SHP) aims to hire highly qualified faculty staff whose academic records meet international standards in the Catalan public universities. The Programme contributes to implement the knowledge society targets of the Government of Catalonia's Government Plan.
Successful candidates are expected to have an outstanding academic record and to be, or potentially become, leaders able to collaborate, innovate and develop new lines of research complementary to those already in place.
In order to achieve this aim, the SHP establishes boundary conditions for the competitions announced within the framework of the Programme to encourage concurrence, transparency and the selection of the best-qualified candidate.
In particular, open positions with broad profiles are advertised in recognised academic portals and measures are taken to ensure that selection committee members are not affected by any conflict of interest. In addition, the SHP promotes the implementation of procedural improvements to facilitate both candidates’ application and access to information.
The SHP has an internationally renowned academic as its Academic Director and an Advisory Board whose members are also distinguished academics.
The SHP has been acknowledged by the National Pact for the Knowledge Society (Pacte Nacional per a la Societat del Coneixement - PN@SC), passed on June 9th 2020, as one of its tools for attracting and retaining talent, it has also been recognized as a programme of excellence in order to apply for the I3 Certificate of the Spanish Ministry for the Universities.
